MyEvent.com allows you to post YOUR photos on several pages of your website, in addition to the Slideshow. To display your photos on your Website immediately, 24 hours/day, upload them using the Control Panel. You can use digital photos from a digital camera OR scan your photos.

Using digital photos from a digital camera:
On most digital cameras, the medium or low-resolution setting works best. Do not use very large images or photos taken at a very high resolution. A moderate sized image file will give good quality, and allow for faster loading of your slideshow photos.

    If you are scanning photos:

It's easy to get your photos scanned at a copy/print shop like Kinko's, if you don’t have a scanner at home.
Save photo files with one of the following extensions: .JPG or .PNG. Scan photos with at 72 DPI (check the pixel width according to the page you are uploading to below).

Once you have your images in a digital format, you may use the Control Panel to upload your photos.
    • Click on the Browse button. If uploading to the slideshow, click on the Browse button next to the position where you want the chosen photo to appear.
    • On your computer, locate the photo file that you want to add (on your hard drive, floppy, CD, etc).
    • Open the chosen photo file by double clicking or by clicking on the file and then clicking "Open." The file you select will then be added to your Photo Submission Box.
    • Click on the "Upload Photo" button. Please allow time for your file to be uploaded.
    • If uploading to the Slideshow, repeat the process until you have placed all the photos that you want.

    Blurry images:

Most images are resized by our system when they are uploaded. Some "blurriness" can occur when and image is resized. If your images look blurry on upload you can resize them yourself before uploading.

Resizing can be done in an image editing application on your own PC like Adobe Photoshop or the Microsoft Photo Editor which is included as part of Microsoft Office. If you don't have any photo editing software, download Irfanview for free. Click here to download Irfanview, or visit irfanview.com.

The image dimensions for the various sections of your website are as follows:

    Section Width
    Homepage 275 pixels
    Slideshow 550 pixels
    Stories 200 pixels
    Then and Now 150 pixels
